3/4 cbuttermilk

1/4 csugar

1 Tbsppure vanilla extract

1 x lgegg
-
2 call purpose flour
-
1 Tbspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

3 Tbspbutter, cold, cut up into little bits

3/4 cchocolate chips, chocolate of your choie

1 x lgegg white
-
2 Tbspsugar
How To Make chocolate chip buttermilk scones

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray.

2Combine flour, baking powder & salt, in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk. Cut in chilled butter with a pastry blender, or 2 knives, until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Add milk mixture, stirring just until moist.

3Place dough onto a floured surface & knead lightly four times with floured hands. Form dough into an 9" circle onto baking sheet, about 3/4" thick. Using a knife, cut dough into 12 wedges all the way through.

4Brush egg white over dough & sprinkle evenly with sugar. Bake until golden, about 18 - 20 minutes, depending on your oven. Serve warm.
