chocolate cherry crisp

This is an extremely easy and fun dessert to make...plus yummy, if you like cherries and chocolate! You can easily keep on-hand all the ingredients and make it if you are "in a pinch"! We like to serve it with a dollop of whipped cream! (from an Easy to Bake Easy to Make recipe)

Ingredients

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling - 21 oz each
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 can rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks - 4 ounces

How To Make chocolate cherry crisp

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spoon pie filling into a 9-inch square baking dish (or dish of your choice!)
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and cocoa powder in a medium bowl; mix well. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until coarse crumbs form.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle flour mixture over pie filling. Sprinkle with chocolate chunks.
  • Step 4
    Bake crisp until filling is bubbly, about 40 minutes. Cool slightly on a wire rack and serve warm.
