My mom has been making this for years. I love the whole thing, but my favorite part is the crust. It smells wonderful while it is baking.... yum! This pic does not do it justice, but I just wanted to see if I could post a pic on here. I did it!!!!!!!

Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 2 sticks melted butter
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • FIRST LAYER
  • 1 - 8-ounce container cool whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • SECOND LAYER
  • 1 large box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • LAST LAYER
  • 1 - 8-ounce container cool whip
  • - chopped pecans

How To Make chocolate cheese dessert

  • Step 1
    Mix crust ingredients together with a fork and press into 9x13 glass baking dish (bottom, not sides). Bake at 375* for 25 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Step 2
    First layer: Mix all ingredients together with a mixer. Spread on cooled crust.
  • Step 3
    Second layer: Prepare pudding mix according to package directions. Pour on top of cheese layer. Put in fridge for 15 minutes to let pudding set up.
  • Step 4
    Last layer: Spread 2nd container of cool whip on chocolate pudding layer. Sprinkle top with chopped pecans. Chill for at least a couple of hours, if not more, before serving.
