Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans
- CHOCOLATE HONEY BUTTER
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

Step 1In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar.

Step 2Add eggs; 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

Step 3Combine the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk.

Step 4Fold in pecans.

Step 5Pour into a greased 9 X 5 X 3 inch loaf pan.

Step 6Bake at 350 degrees for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

Step 7Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.

Step 8Mix butter, honey and chocolate syrup; mix well.

Step 9Serve the mixture with the bread.
