This is 1 of my many favorite recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • CHOCOLATE HONEY BUTTER
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup

How To Make buttermilk chocolate bread

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs; 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step 3
    Combine the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  • Step 4
    Fold in pecans.
  • Step 5
    Pour into a greased 9 X 5 X 3 inch loaf pan.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 55 - 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step 7
    Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.
  • Step 8
    Mix butter, honey and chocolate syrup; mix well.
  • Step 9
    Serve the mixture with the bread.
