1Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat eggs lightly with spoon. Stir in sugar, salt and vanilla, then melted chocolate and shortening (I put the shortening and squares of chocolate in a pyrex cup and melt in the microwave for 1 minute intervals) Stir in flour and walnuts together.
Do not beat at any time.
2Spread mixture in a 8 or 9 inch greased square pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Browies should be still soft.
Let cool in pan. Cut into small bars.
Makes 18-24 brownies.
