If you make several storage bags of the dry ingredients in this recipe you will never have to buy store bought brownie mix again because the mix costs about 30 cents per bag to make. Quite a savings. You can also store it in jars too if desired, then when you are ready to bake brownies, just add the remaining ingredients and your good to go. This way, you know exactly what's in them.

Ingredients For brownies from scratch

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How To Make brownies from scratch

    Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs, vegetale oil and vanilla. Mix thoroughly by hand. Pour into a greased 8x8 or 9x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
