This brownie recipe is meant for add-in's! Mini reeses cups, M&M's, chocolate chunks, whatever your stomach desires!

  • 1/3 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1/3 c
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 2
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2/3 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • ·
    good amount of candy of choice (i prefer mini reeses cups)

How to Make Brownies


  1. Mix wet ingredients with handheld or stand mixer until smooth. (shortening, butter, milk, sugars, vanilla extract, eggs and salt)
  2. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl. (flour, baking soda, cocoa powder)
  3. Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. When finished add candy.
  4. Pour mix into pans of your choice. I use 2 8x8 pans. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes or to your liking.
