I used to make these alot, kinda of addictive really. Make sure you store them in a tight container as they will harden up from the brown sugar.

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp
  • 2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 2/3 c
    margarine or butter
  • 2
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 pkg
    chocolate chips (6 oz) ` 1 cup

How to Make Blonde Brownies


  1. Melt shortening, add sugar and cool.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Sift and add dry ingredients, stir in nuts.
  4. Turn into well greased 13" x 9" pan and sprinkle on chocolate chips.
  5. Bake 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Do not overbake as they are better fudgie.
