austrian cream cheese brownies

I don't think I know anyone who doesn't like brownies. They are so rich and chocolaty. This is a twist on the brownies that we know and love, but oh so good.. Hope you enjoy. I don't have a picture of these yet but will post one as soon as I do...

Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • TOPPING:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • GLAZE:
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

How To Make austrian cream cheese brownies

  • Step 1
    Crust: Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine crust ingredients. Beat at medium speed for about two minutes until crumbly and well blended. Press mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes Remove from oven.
  • Step 2
    Topping: In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour and eggs at medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in 6 oz. of chocolate chips. Pour over partially baked crust. Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until topping is almost set. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle the top with 6 oz. of chocolate chips and nuts, lightly pressing into glaze. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
