Loving Toffee, when I found this one in NC going through Momma's recipes (so no idea who Minnie is...lol) I found this one! It is in Momma's handwriting (Barb)

Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped black walnuts (i would use pecans, i don't like walnuts)
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
How To Make toffee, minnie's

Step 1Butter an 8x8. Sprinkle nuts on bottom. In 1 1/2 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter or margarine. Cook over med heat to soft crack stage (290 degrees), stirring often. Remove from heat and spread over nuts in bottom of pan. Sprinkle chocolate on top, let stand 1-2 min. When chocolate is softened, spread evenly over toffee.

Step 2Chill thoroughly. Break into pieces.
