Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • TOPPING INGREDIENTS
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 package bits o' brickle baking chips

How To Make toffee chip squares

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Cream butter and add brown sugar and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Step 3
    Add flour and baking powder and mix until well blended.
  • Step 4
    Pat evenly into ungreased 9 x 13 baking pan, pressing down flat.
  • Step 5
    Bake 10-15 minutes until golden.
  • Step 6
    Remove from oven and cut while warm into triangles, cut from 2 inch squares.
  • Step 7
    Prepare topping: Melt chocolate chips, butter and water in top of double boiler over hot water.
  • Step 8
    Stir until smooth.
  • Step 9
    Remove top of double boiler from hot water.
  • Step 10
    Let chocolate thicken a little and then drop a large dollop in the center of each square or triangle
  • Step 11
    Sprinkle bits o\' brickle chips on top of wet chocolate, heavily.
  • Step 12
    Refrigerate to set and remove squares with spatula and shake off excess bits o\' brickle.
