Many years ago this candy was given as a gift from a Sunday School teacher. I have used different types of nuts and all have been good. My oldest daughter makes it without nuts and it is good. Toffee Bars have been passed down 2 generations and is still the most asked for candy at Christmas among family and friends.

Ingredients For toffee bars

  • 1 pkg
    graham crackers
  • 1 stick
  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 pkg
    nuts (sliced almonds;pecans; walnuts or mix of all

How To Make toffee bars

  • 1
    Pre heat oven to 350. Line Large cookie sheet with sides with graham Crackers.

    Melt butter and margarine in saucepan, bring to boil.

    Add Brown sugar, bring back to boil and boil for 2 min.
  • 4
    Spread hot mix over graham crackers and sprinkle nuts evenly over all.

    Bake at 350 for 10 min. Remove from oven and let stand until bubbling stops. Transfer to wax paper and cool for 15 min. Break into pieces and store in air tight container.
