These pretzel rod dippers are so pretty and versatile. I use assorted coating. In this version I use Crushed peppermint candies but you can use your imagination to create a great variety. examples are: Assorted candy sprinkles, any crushed hard candy, colorful candy melt drizzles, Crushed nuts, Shredded coconut, the varieties are limitless and beautiful, Create and enjoy

Ingredients

2 cups semi sweet chocklate chips. ( or milk chocklate, white chocolate chips).
1 tablespoon shortening
1 package (10 ounces) pretzel rods.
40 - red and/ or green hard mint candies, crushed.

How To Make pretzel rod dippers.

Step 1

Place chocolate chips and shortening in a 2 cup microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat till melted. Stir until smooth.

Step 2

Break each pretzel rod in half. Dip the cracked end 1/2 way into the chocolate then roll in crushed candies.
Step 3

Place on wax paper on medium baking sheet. Chill until set. You can individually wrap in saran wrap with a bow for gift giving or serve at room temp. Makes about 4 dozen.
