This out of our local newspaper, author unlisted. It's just another one of those quacky recipes and I wanted to put it here for safe keeping until I have time to try it.

  • ·
    nonstick veg. spray
  • 2 c
    cooked pinto beans
  • 1/3 c
    butter or margarine
  • 1 c
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 4 oz
    unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 2 lb
    powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans or walnuts

How to Make Pinto Bean Fudge


  1. Spray a 9" x 13" pan or dish with veg. cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Mash or puree beans. Add butter or margarine, cocoa, baking chocolate and vanilla.
  3. Mix in powdered sugar gradually.
  4. Add chopped nuts of your choice and press into the prepaired pan. Cut into desired pieces and store in the refri.
