I made this dessert last Thanksgiving and it was definitely a hit! These will replace my usual Pecan pies at my Thanksgiving table every year from now on. They are scrumptious!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup of butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons whipping cream
  • 3 1/2 cups coursely chopped pecans

How To Make pecan squares

  • Step 1
    Sift together two cups of flour and 2/3 cup of powdered sugar
  • Step 2
    Cut in 3/4 cup of softened butter using a pastry blender or a fork just until mixture resembles course meal.
  • Step 3
    Pat mixture into bottom and sides of a lightly greased 13 X 9 inch baking dish
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and let cool
  • Step 5
    Bring brown sugar, honey 2/3 cup of butter and whipping cream to a boil in a saucepan over medium high heat. Stir in pecans and pour hot filling into prepared crust.
  • Step 6
    Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly
  • Step 7
    Cool completely and cut into 2 inch squares.
