Our family has made this recipe for 30 years at least. Get a man to help mix this for you. My old hands get tired mixing it by hand but the results are wonderful and very sweet. This makes a great gift.

Ingredients For nut roll fruit cake - weaver family

  • 1 box
    crushed vanilla wafers
  • 1 can
    condensed milk
  • 1 lb
    box of raisins or candied fruits
  • 1 can
    can of coconut
  • 1 pkg
    candy orange slices - found in candy section of store
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts - your choice

How To Make nut roll fruit cake - weaver family

    Mix well all ingredients by hand. Divide mixture into 2 to 4 sections. Place each section on wax paper. Roll each section into a log shape about half dollar size in diameter and wrap the wax paper around it to chill. Then wrap in foil or plastic wrap. Slice off a small portion as you want to eat it. Store in refrigerator and give some to friends.

    Note: Mixture is very thick and it helps to have a man's hands when mixing this. We have doubled the recipe which does add more time to preparation but we think it is worth it. Stores very well when kept wrapped tightly.
