These are reminiscent of that fabulous candy bar. I got this recipe from a co-worker many years ago, and it is requested at every family Christmas gathering. I hope you enjoy these as much as we do.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cook 'n serve vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1 cup salted peanuts

How To Make nut goodie bars

  • Step 1
    Add chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter to a bowl.
  • Step 2
    Microwave 1 - 2 minutes and stir.
  • Step 3
    Then microwave in 30 second intervals sopping to stir and check until fully melted.
  • Step 4
    Spread one-half of this mixture into a lightly greased 9" x 13" pan.
  • Step 5
    Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Mix butter, milk, and vanilla pudding mix in a saucepan.
  • Step 7
    Bring to a boil.
  • Step 8
    Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and maple flavoring.
  • Step 9
    Beat until smooth.
  • Step 10
    Spread over the chocolate layer that has been in the refrigerator.
  • Step 11
    Add the salted peanuts to the remaining half of the chocolate mixture.
  • Step 12
    Spread over the top of the bars. Cut into squares and keep refrigerated.
