We loved when Mom made these. We'd stand by the stove in pure delight.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk or evaporated milk
  • 2 1/2 cups raw peanuts
  • 2/3 cup white karo syrup
  • AFTER COOKED:
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter or oleo
  • - red food coloring

How To Make mom's peanut patty

  • Step 1
    Cook all ingredients from top list together to soft ball stage, pretty firm. Remove from heat.
  • Step 2
    Add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and 4 tablespoons of butter. Also add a few drops of red food coloring.
  • Step 3
    Mix well and drop large spoonfuls out on wax paper to cool. Should be about 3-4 inches wide. Wrap in plastic wrap when cool. Do not leave out in air as they will get dry.
