    packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/3 c
    miniature semisweet chocolate chips

How to Make MOCK TOFFEE

Step-by-Step

  1. LINE A MICROWAVE-SAFE 2-QUART RECTANGULAR BAKING DISH WITH PARCHMENT PAPER, EXTENDING PAPER OVER EDGES OF DISH. COVER BOTTOM OF PREPARED DISH WITH A SINGLE LAYER OF GRAHAM CRACKERS, BREAKING CRACKERS AS TO FIT. SPRINKLE CRACKER WITH ALMONDS.
  2. IN A MICROWAVE-SAFE 4-CUP GLASS MEASURE, COMBINE BROWN SUGAR AND BUTTER.MICROWAVE, UNCOVERED, ON 100% POWER/HIGH FOR 3 MINUTES OR JUST UNTIL MELTED, STIRRING EVERY 30 SECONDS. POUR OVER CRACKERS AND NUTS IN DISH.(WORK QUICKLY BECAUSE MIXTURE SEPARATES.)MICROWAVE MIXTURE IN BAKING DISH, UNCOVERED, FOR 1 1/2 MINUTES. SPRINKLE WITH CHOCOLATE.CHILL FOR 1-2 HOURS OR UNTIL CHOCOLATE IS SET. USE PARCHMENT PAPER TO LIFT CANDY FROM DISH BREAK INTO PIECES. STORE IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER AT ROOM TEMP. FOR UP TO 3 DAYS OR FREEZE FOR UP TO 3 MONTHS. IF FROZEN, THAW AT ROOM TEMP. FOR 30 MIN. BEFORE SERVING. AND ENJOY!
