linda's easy maple fudge
(1 RATING)
I found two different Maple Fudge recipes but neither one was 'just right'. This is a combination of the two. I make this for Christmas every year, one batch with lots of walnuts & one without for my non- nutty friends & family. I make only at Christmas because we just cannot resist this fudge and it keeps it special. You can add more maple flavoring depending on how strong a maple taste you like.

Ingredients
- 3 cups brown sugar, light
- 1 cup butter, cold
- 6 ounces evaporated milk
- 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 - 1 cups walnut pieces
How To Make linda's easy maple fudge
-
Step 1Over medium high heat, bring butter, brown sugar and carnation milk to a boil.
-
Step 2Reduce heat to medium, simmer for 7 minutes, stirring constantly.
-
Step 3Remove from heat. Add the maple extract and give a quick mix.
-
Step 4Add the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time and beat with an electric or hand mixer for 2 minutes.
-
Step 5Stir in nuts by hand if using. Pour into an 8x8 or 9x9 pan, lightly buttered. Cool.
-
Step 6This makes a large batch of fudge and in the 8x8 or 9x9 pan it is quite thick, so cut into small squares. I chop the walnuts fairly large but they can be any size you prefer.
