I use this recipe when I make my wonderful Gourmet Apples!!

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
How To Make joanie's vanilla caramels

Step 1Cook the first 5 ingredients together, stirring constantly until dissolved.

Step 2Cook slow until temperature is 248* or mixture forms a firm ball when dropped in cold water.

Step 3Remove from heat and add butter, salt, and vanilla- mix well

Step 4Pour into greased or buttered pan, cool (about 3 hours) invert onto wooden board and cut into squares. OR Leave caramel in pan and dip apples, pretzels or anything else you would like!
