- 4 - egg whites, room temperature
- 8 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped hazelnuts
How To Make hazelnut meringues

Step 1Preheat oven to 250.

Step 2Line 2 large cookie sheets with wax paper or parchment.

Step 3In small bowl of electric mixer, (hand mixer works fine) whisk whites until they peak softly.

Step 4Beat in sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time and continue until mixture is stiff and shiny.

Step 5Quickly fold in 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts.

Step 6Drop by tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets.

Step 7Sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of nuts.

Step 8Bake in preheated oven for 3 hours until dry.
