Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups light corn syrup
- 2 cups unsalted nuts - any kind you prefer
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter - use real butter
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
How To Make grandma's nut brittle

Step 1Butter a large platter or clean counter top. NOTE: Be careful to not let brittle burn during cooking process.

Step 2Slowly cook sugar, corn syrup, and water in heavy sauce pan- stirring until sugar dissolves.

Step 3Cook to soft crack stage; add nuts and salt. Proceed to cook until hard crack stage- stirring constantly.

Step 4Remove from heat, add butter and baking soda- stir to blend - mixture will bubble.

Step 5Pour onto buttered platter-smooth out into thin layer. Cool and break into pieces.
