Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons real butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts - if desired
How To Make grandma's favorite carmel recipe

Step 1Butter a 8" or 9" square pan.

Step 2Combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, butter, and 1 cup of the cream; Boil to soft ball stage-stirring constantly.

Step 3Add remaining cream slowly while cooking- cook 45 minutes or until mixture makes a firm pliable ball when dropped into cold water.

Step 4Remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Let stand 12 hours.

Step 5Cut into 1-inch squares and wrap each individually with waxed paper.
