How to Make Grandma's Favorite Carmel Recipe
1Butter a 8" or 9" square pan.
2Combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, butter, and 1 cup of the cream; Boil to soft ball stage-stirring constantly.
3Add remaining cream slowly while cooking- cook 45 minutes or until mixture makes a firm pliable ball when dropped into cold water.
4Remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Let stand 12 hours.
5Cut into 1-inch squares and wrap each individually with waxed paper.
