frito cookie bars (can be gluten free)
(1 RATING)
These are good with the bbq fritos chips or doritos which give it a little different flavor. Just break doritos into about 3 pieces. Experiment with your favorite choice of chips. Use Chex cereals which are gluten free or chips that are gluten free if you want.

How To Make frito cookie bars (can be gluten free)
-
Step 1Measure out all ingredients. Mix sugar and karo in pan and cook slowly over low heat until it boils maybe 20 minutes more or less. Stir frequently. After it begins to boil remove from heat and mix in peanut butter until smooth. Spread fritos in greased cookie sheet (with sides) or pan of your choice. The bigger the pan the thinner the bars and easier to cut. Pour cooked mixture over fritos. Let cool and cut into small bars.
-
Step 2Recipe can be made gluten free. Use gluten free peanut butter. The original plain fritos are suppose to be gluten free but be sure. You can substitute another kind of chip if you like. Ruffles potato chips or Doritos are good in this recipe also.
