I was given this recipe from a coworker who told me they were the best caramels ever and were so easy to make. She was right! They have now become a holiday staple when baking because of their delicious butter flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture! Tip: I have had the best results when using name brand ingredients as listed.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup light karo syrup
- 1 can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
- dash salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How To Make easy caramels

Step 1Cover 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper and set aside

Step 2In a large microwave safe bowl, combine butter, sugar, karo syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and salt. Mix just until combined.

Step 3Microwave on high as follows: 4 minutes then stir 4 minutes then stir 4 minutes then stir 4 minutes then stir

Step 4Add 2 tsp vanilla extract. Stir

Step 5Pour mixture into prepared 9x13 and let cool completely. When cooled, cut into pieces and wrap individually with wax paper or saran wrap.
