Ingredients

  • 1 cup light o dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 - eggwhites
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pound shelled mixed nuts ( about 1 3/4 cups )

How To Make easy candied nurs

  • Step 1
    begain heating oven to 325. place butter in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 " jelly-roll pan and place in oven until melted. remove from oven and set aside.
  • Step 2
    in a medium bowl, with mixer , beat egg whites and salt until foamy. add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until soft peaks form. beat in karo syrup. stir in nuts, coating well. pour into prepared pan, spread into a single layed.
  • Step 3
    bake for 10 minutes, stir nuts thoroughly, return to oven to bake 10 minutes longer. remove from oven stir for 5 minutes to break up nuts and cook slightly.
  • Step 4
    continue stirring and breaking up the nuts until lukewarm, 15-20 minutes. when cooled enough to handle, separte into small peces, cool completely. store in airtight tins.
