I love this recipe. It's easy and the ingredients are things that you usually have on hand....We always have this during the holidays, but it's good anytime. You can also use different flavored extracts....I have used orange, lemon and rum
1Stir water and corn syrup into sugar. Bring to a boil and then cook slowly until it forms a softball when dropped into a cup of cold water. Add 1/2 mixture to the well beaten eggs whites. Continue beating the other half with mixer while syrup cooks to a real hard ball stage. Add to egg mixture. Beat with electric beater while adding vanilla. Beat by hand until it will drop from spoon. Add nuts before dropping on wax paper.
