Every Christmas, my Mom, Aunt Ruth, and I would make Christmas candy. This is one of my favorites! Even if you don't like dates, give it a try!

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups pecans, in pieces
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 8 ounces package dates, chopped

How To Make date loaf candy

Step 1Dampen kitchen towel, and wring out. Sprinkle with sugar.

Step 2Combine sugar, butter and milk in heavy saucepan. Boil, stirring occasionally until hard boil stage is reached.

Step 3Remove from heat. Add dates and pecans, Beat until creamy. SETS UP FAST! Pour onto entire length of damp, sugared cloth . Roll into long log.

Step 4Cool completely. Slice to serve.
