Ingredients
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 24 - paper candy cups, 1 inch
- FILLING INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup peanut butter, creamy
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
How To Make chocolate peanut butter cups

Step 1Combine over hot, not boiling, water, the milk chocolate chips and vegetable shortening.

Step 2Stir until the chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.

Step 3Remove from the heat but keep over the hot water.

Step 4Coat the inside of the candy cups by using 1 teaspoon of the chocolate mixture for each cup.

Step 5Place the candy cups in the palm of your hand and rotate gently, using a narrow rubber spatula to push the chocolate up the sides of the cup.

Step 6Chill.

Step 7PEANUT BUTTER FILLING: In a small bowl, combine the peanut butter, confectioners\' sugar and butter, mixing until well blended.

Step 8Using slightly rounded teaspoonfuls, shape the peanut butter filling into balls.

Step 9Place 1 ball in each chilled cup and press lightly with your fingers to flatten.

Step 10Spoon 1 level teaspoon of the reserved chocolate mixture on top and smooth over to seal.

Step 11Chill until firm, about 45 minutes.

Step 12Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
