brown sugar
1/2 c
2 c
nuts, finely chopped
1 c
corn syrup
unsweetened chocolate squares
1 c
1/4 tsp
1 Tbsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Chocolate Caramels


  • 1Cut chocolate in small pieces.
  • 2Add sugar, butter, salt, syrup and cream.
  • 3Cover and boil 5 minutes.
  • 4Uncover.
  • 5Boil slowly, stirring constantly, to firm ball stage 248.
  • 6Remove from fire.
  • 7Add flavoring and stir until well blended.
  • 8Pour quickly over nuts which have been placed in well-buttered pan.
  • 9When cool cut in squares.
