i fooled around with this and made three different versions. i used my homemade vanilla sugar and the creme brulee sugars for the others. one was cappuccino and praline flavored. great for gifts if you can stop eating them

  • 1 lb
    whole pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 c
    regular sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    egg white
  • ·
    xtra flavored sugar

How to Make char's pecans

Step-by-Step

  1. combine the salt and regular sugar in a bowl. stir well and set aside for a minute. with a fork whisk the egg white a little. add the nuts( i used half pecans and half walnuts) after well coated add the sugar mixtue. lay single file on jellyroll pan. sprinkle with one of the sugars. bake at 300 for 20 minutes. place on wax paper and spread out with a fork. not your fingers, way too hot. when cool they are ready to eat
