  • 12 c
    popcorn, popped
  • 3 c
    pecans, halved
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda

How to Make Caramel-Nut Corn


  1. Divide popcorn and nuts between 2 ungreased rectangular pans, 13x9x2 inches.
  2. Cook brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbly around edges.
  3. Continue cooking 5 minutes; remove from heat.
  4. Stir in baking soda until foamy.
  5. Pour over popcorn and nuts, stirring until corn is well coated.
  6. Bake uncovered in 200 degree oven, stirring every 15 minutes, 1 hour.
  7. SUBSTITUTIONS: May use walnut halves or blanched whole almonds in place of pecans.
