These are awesome! I'll be baking these Christmas eve w/ one of my grandchildren. They have a great chocolate/peppermint taste.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 - crushed candy canes

How To Make candycane brownies

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Spray a 8 x 11" baking pan w/ cooking spray. In small bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter in microwave safe bowl. Pour butter into lg bowl. Whisk in 1/4 cup chocolate chips until melted. Whisk in sugar and eggs. Stir in dry ingredients. Pour batter into pan. Bake 20-25 min, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 3
    Beat 1/4 cup softened butter together w/ powdered sugar and extract. Add enough milk until spreadable. Add the crushed candy canes, stir well. Frost cooled brownies, cut into squares. melt remaining chocolate chips in microwave, stir in oil. Drizzle over brownies.
