  • 4 c
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 c
    light karo syrup
  • 2/3 c
    margarine, melted
  • 1/4 c
    crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract

  • 6 ounce pkg
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 ounce pkg
    butterscotch morsels
  • 3/4 c
    smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract (optional)

How to Make Baby Ruth Bars


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the oatmeal, brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine, peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until moist. Spread in pan (batter will be thick). Bake for 12 minutes; cool slightly.
  3. Combine chocolate and butterscotch chips, peanut butter and vanilla in small saucepan. Stir until melted. Spread on warm bars.
