My Aunt Joyce and my Mom made this for me all the time! I still remember staying up late for this special treat! We never had a candy thermometer but it sure makes it easier!

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut up
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts your choice
How To Make arkansas fudge

Step 1Heavily butter a 9 by 13 cake pan. Set aside.In a large heavy bottomed pot, combine sugar, milk and cocoa. Cook over med heat till boiling. Using a candy thermometer cook till soft ball stage stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add in vanilla and butter stirring until it looses its shine. Pour into prepared cake pan and let cool completely. Cut into 1 to 1 1/2 pieces.
