This is very easy and yummy candy. Very much like the apple and apricot candy that you buy at Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon plain gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold applesauce
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

How To Make apple candy

  • Step 1
    Mix the gelatin with the 1/2 Cup Cold Applesauce.
  • Step 2
    In a saucepan, combine the 3/4 Cup Applesauce with the 2 Cups of Sugar and boil for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add the gelatin mixture and simmer 15 minutes longer, stirring constantly.
  • Step 4
    Remove from heat, add the nuts and vanilla.
  • Step 5
    Pour into a buttered 9-inch square pan. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 1-inch squares and roll in powdered sugar to coat.
