For use on cakes or cupcakes - fairly easy recipe. Cheaper than purchasing the ready-made, and taste much better. Can be colored to whatever color is needed. Gel coloring works great.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound blanched almonds
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 3 - egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

How To Make almond paste

  • Step 1
    1.Grind almonds in a blender. Thoroughly mix in confectioners sugar. Beat egg whites slightly, then stir into the almond mixture. Add almond extract, using your hands to blend the heavy mixture.
  • Step 2
    Roll out to desired thickness on a surface covered with confectioners' sugar and use as desired.
