These are so much fun to make when your daughter has a slumber party or the boys have pals over for video game night. Roll them in sprinkles for the holidays, or add food color to the filling to match your favorite team for the big game! Ingredients

  • PIES:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • FILLING:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make whoopie pies

  • Step 1
    For the pies: Cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla, egg and milk and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Drop by spoonfulls onto cookie sheet lined with foil. Bake for 350 degrees for 7 minutes.
  • Step 2
    For the filling: Beat all ingredients together until fluffy (If adding food coloring, do so at this point). Spread between two pies, making a sandwich. Roll into sprinkles if desired.
