I practically had to sell my soul to get this recipe from my daughter's friend. It is definitely one of the best crumb cakes ever!

Ingredients For thea’s crumb cake

  • CAKE
  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 box
    instant lemon pudding mix
  • CRUMB TOPPING
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 c
    butter, room temperature
  • confectioners' sugar for dusting

How To Make thea’s crumb cake

    Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 13x9" pan.

    In a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add the remaining ingredients and mix on low speed until combined. I usually add a couple of drops of lemon oil, too. Increase to high speed and beat for additional 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes.

    While the cake is baking, prepare crumb topping by combining flour, sugar and cinnamon. Add butter and mix well by hand. (I use my hands to do this-a little messy but effective.)

    Crumble this mixture over the cake and bake for an additional 10 minutes. When cake is cool, dust with confectioners sugar.
