I found this recipe in a 1993 edition of Taste of Home Magazine. My mother-in-law loved this cake.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- I cup water
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- FROSTING
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
How To Make white texas sheet cake

Step 1In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to boil.

Step 2Remove from the heat, stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, slat and baking soda until smooth.

Step 3Pour into a greased 15-in x 10 in x 1 baking pan.

Step 4Bake at 375 for 20 to 22 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for 20 minutes

Step 5Meanwhile for frosting, combine butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to boil.

Step 6Remove from heat, add sugar and extract and mix well. Stir in walnuts

Step 7Spread over warm cake.
