white sheet cake w/ pecan glaze
I prefer this delicious sheet cake over a chocolate one. My favorite cake is white so no surprise I'd prefer this. So moist, I just love it...I think it is quite pretty also. This is an excellent cake to take to a pot luck, always well received. Enjoy!! My photos

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract ( i use 1/2 tsp of both )
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- PECAN FROSTING
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk or half n half
- 4 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
How To Make white sheet cake w/ pecan glaze

Step 1In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup butter or margarine and water to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, 1 teaspoon almond extract, salt, and baking soda until smooth. Pour batter into a greased sheet cake pan.

Step 2Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until cake is golden brown and tests done. Cool for 20 minutes.

Step 3Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine and milk in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Mix in sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Stir in pecans

Step 4Spread frosting over warm cake. Enjoy!
