This is Mary Ella Harrison Bass' recipe, at least 98 years old. She made it in November so it could sit for a month and cure.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound brazil nuts
  • 2 pounds walnuts
  • 1 pound dates, chopped
  • 1 cup candied cherries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 - eggs, seperated
  • 4 tablespoons whiskey or rum

How To Make white fruit cake

  • Step 1
    Beat egg yolks and sugar.
  • Step 2
    Add whiskey.
  • Step 3
    Sift 1/2 cup flour over nuts and fruits.
  • Step 4
    Add remaining flour and baking powder to egg and sugar mixture. Mix together.
  • Step 5
    Add beaten egg whites last.
  • Step 6
    Bake in tube pan lined with waxpaper.
  • Step 7
    Bake 275 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
