This is a great frosting. I use it for cakes and cupcakes often.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make white frosting

  • Step 1
    cook milk and flour in a small pan. cook until thick (stirring constantly) I usually do this step, right after I put the cake in the oven - this mixture must be COMPLETELY COLD before continuing to the next step.
  • Step 2
    Put thickened milk mixture in a mixing bowl, add stick of butter and beat 4 min. add crisco then beat 4 min. add sugar (slowly - just a little at a time) then beat 4 min. add salt and vanilla and beat 4 min.
  • Step 3
    Frost cake =)
