My mother made a lot of cakes in her life time and this is the frosting that she would use. My favorite was chocolate cake, this frosting with bitter-sweet chocolate dribbled on top.

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening,( i use rounded tablespoon)
- 1 - egg white
- - pinch salt
- 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make white cake frosting

Step 1In a bowl with a electric mixer add shortening,egg white,salt and 1 cup confectioner's sugar, mix on low until blended then turn up to med. high until well mixed. Add the rest of the ingredients, mix on low until blended then mix on high for 10 min. turning off to scrape sides every couple min. Now your ready to frost your favorite cake or cupcakes!
