Oh, yum. Yup, yum. Deserves a second yum, that's for sure. This one is Ma's from her recipe box we found in NC in July 2019. She had some good cake recipes because she made them for Pa weekly.

Ingredients
- 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats, uncooked
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), cut in chunks
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup minus 2 t sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- TOPPING:
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 6 tablespoons butter (3/4 stick)
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup flaked coconut
How To Make what cake, ma

Step 1Put oats and butter in bowl. Pour boiling water over, stir until butter is melted. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Add to oats mixture, mix well. Add sugars, then eggs, mix thoroughly. Pour into greased 9x13. Bake at 375 degrees about 25 min or until done.

Step 2While cake is baking, prepare topping. Combine brown sugar, milk and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil 1 min. Remove from heat. Blend in pecans and coconut. Spread topping on warm cake in pan. Place under broiler just long enough to slightly brown topping. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
