I am in my 60th year and I have been making this cake since I was about 8. It is fail proof. I have added all kinds of ingredients. My family's favorite is a handful of long coconut and a handful of chocolate chips stirred in before baking. Serve with Ice cream instead of icing.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

How To Make wackey cake

  • Step 1
    Sift all these ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Make three depressions in the dry mix. 2 fairly large one on small
  • Step 3
    In large depression pour 1 cup water. In the other large depression put 5 Tbsp oil. In small depression put 1 tsp vanilla.
  • Step 4
    Mix together and place in 8 x 8 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not over bake.
