My girl friend gave me this recipe about 30 yrs. ago, only she used graham crackers instead of Vanilla Wafers {which I just happened to have on hand} I really love it.

Ingredients

  • 2 stick
    butter, room temperature
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 6
    eggs
  • 1 box
    12 oz. vanilla wafers
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 7 oz
    angel flake cocnut
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • few
    cut up maraschino cherries

How to Make Vanilla Wafer Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. cream butter and sugar add eggs slowly one at a time add finally crushed vanilla wafers add milk and mix thoroghly, beat in gently the coconut and the pecans; add the few cut up cherries. pour into a greased, floured and waxed papered tube pan Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours. cool ten minutes then remove from pan. Cool and serve with whipped cream
