Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
1/2 ccrisco shortening
1/2 cunsalted butter, softened
1 Tbspmeringue powder
1 tspvanilla extract (clear vanilla extract for pure white frosting)
4 cpowdered sugar, sifted
2 Tbspmilk (or water)
How to Make Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
- Add shortening and butter into bowl. Cream together until well-blended. (You can use a stand mixer, hand mixer, or even mix it by hand if you have to).
- Add vanilla and milk.
- Whisk in meringue powder into powdered sugar. Add powdered sugar into the bowl, one cup at a time; beating on a low speed.
- If your frosting is too stiff, you can add more milk, one tablespoon at a time. If your frosting is too thin, just add a little more powdered sugar until you get your desired consistency.
