- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - egg, beaten (room temperature)
- 4 - granny smith apples, cored, peeled and diced (2 cups)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F

Step 2Generously grease an 8-inch square cake pan.
